Patchwork of Life was a project with Clovelly Road WEA and a group of women who had come to Southampton as refugees and asylum seekers. The women created a work which combined their textile skills from their previous home countries around the world with English patchworking but also which expressed the safety and security they had found in Southampton.
Many of the textiles showed quotes about their experiences and the final piece depicted a beautiful and peaceful garden of flowers. The piece was displayed in Southampton City Library for Womens Week in the city.
